Nolimit City xWays and xNudge: Two Different Questions to Ask

Separate xWays and xNudge at a concept level, then check the actual game for symbol behaviour, multiplier scope and feature-specific limits.

A feature name can tell you which part of a slot to inspect, but not every detail of its payment rule. Nolimit City’s xWays and xNudge are a useful example: one points toward changing symbol possibilities, while the other points toward a moving Wild and its multiplier behaviour.

Use the supplier explanation at the right level

Nolimit City’s publicly indexed 2020 feature document describes xWays in terms of expanding ways and xNudge as a nudging Wild with an increasing multiplier. That historical overview establishes the broad distinction. It is not the current help file for every title using either label.

Do not take a multiplier limit, trigger count or special symbol from one game and attach it to another simply because the feature name appears in both. The actual implementation needs the full game title and its rules.

With xWays, ask what changes on the grid

The practical reading task is to identify what is expanded or revealed, where it can appear and how the resulting positions are evaluated. An increased number of possible combinations is not the same thing as a payment of that many currency units.

For instance, an invented screen could change from 100 possible combinations to 200. That would not mean a 200-unit win, nor a guaranteed win at all. A qualifying arrangement and its payment basis would still be needed. These figures illustrate the distinction, not a Nolimit City specification.

With xNudge, ask what the multiplier applies to

Movement, the resulting multiplier and the eligible win are separate facts. Check whether a multiplier concerns a symbol, a reel, a particular award or a feature total. A large number shown beside an animation cannot answer all four questions.

Keep addition and multiplication unresolved until the rule says

Two displayed multipliers do not automatically establish whether they add, multiply or apply to different awards. Equally, a Wild’s movement does not establish the amount of a cash return. Avoid calculating a real round from an isolated screenshot without the relevant instructions.

Make a short feature note

Write down the exact title, feature name, activation condition, eligible symbol or award, and the point at which the feature ends or resets. If an item is absent, mark it unknown instead of borrowing a popular example.
