“Free spins” can describe two different things: a feature reached inside a game, or an entitlement granted under an offer. The shared phrase does not make their conditions interchangeable. First identify where the spins came from.
A game feature has an in-game trigger
A supplier rule can define a symbol arrangement that starts a free-spin feature. Pragmatic Play’s Wild Wild Joker page is one named example describing a feature trigger. Its details apply to that title, not every slot with free spins.
For this type, the game instructions explain entry, remaining spins, retriggers if any and how feature awards are counted. A previously paid base spin may have led to the feature; “free” does not erase that earlier cost.
An offer creates a separate entitlement
Promotional spins can be provided for specified games under separate conditions. The UK Gambling Commission’s terminology includes game-specific free spins among forms of bonus funds or equivalent. That is a vocabulary reference, not a statement of M2 offers or applicable Malaysian law.
For an offer, look for the designated game, number of spins, value per spin, expiry and treatment of any proceeds. Check whether conditions exist rather than inventing a universal wagering requirement.
The visible counter may count different things
An in-game counter can show remaining feature actions. An offer counter might show an account entitlement waiting to be used. Seeing “10” in both places does not establish equal stake values or equal expected returns.
Do not transfer terms between the two
A promotion’s expiry does not tell you how a game retrigger works. A game’s Scatter rule does not tell you when an operator credits a reward. Keep the two documents and questions separate, especially if promotional spins happen to trigger a game feature.
In that combined situation, record which entitlement started play and which feature then activated. This avoids mistaking a feature award for extra promotional spins that were never promised.
